Specialized components date codes?
I have a S Works Crankset,
octa link style
wide flat arms
4 bolts
back of the arm reads ST6 Japan 175 H-11
3 chain rings have CXP22 CXP32 CXP42
I'm wondering what number of cogs went with this crank? 7, 8 or 9?
and what is the model? Strongarm?

AFAIK, Specialized does not do any of its own manufacturing, but contracts out to others to build product to their specifications. Any date codes would therefore follow whoever actually built the product in question. For your crank, perhaps Sakae Ringyo?

They look like these Stongarm cranks Specialized S-Works Strongarm cranks 175mm 4 bolt Isis drive | Retrobike . Are you sure the rings say cxp and not gxp ? I don't think you would have a problem using 7, 8 or 9 speed cassette with that crankset .
