I have a problem
You see, my bike is as nearly perfect as I could hope.
It looks great, it's comfortable, All systems are functioning flawlessly.
The upgrades and modifications have all worked to improve my endurance, speed, and comfort.
I am proud of it, love riding it, and look forward to going farther to explore new places.
So what's the problem?
There is nothing left to do to it.
It's done.
Perfectly suited to my needs, desires, and taste.
It wants for nothing.
So now what?
It looks great, it's comfortable, All systems are functioning flawlessly.

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter
ride it.
Think of it this way----There are so many places to ride to, ans so little time.

The difference between a bike that is done and one that needs upgrades is a state of mind.
Choose your state carefully.

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.
Not really a problem. Ride it just as it is for awhile and some new modification will come up that strikes your fancy. Always does.
Me, I'm just waiting for my spiffy new hand grips to come in. Should be here sometime next week.

Buy a new one, right away. You know that.
As for the "finished" bike: Consider a custom paint job. Maybe look up some parts prototypers and have some one-off custom pieces designed and fabricated---stuff no one else in the world will have.
If absolutely everything else fails: Ride it until some part wears out, and then buy the newer, shiny, lighter, but possibly in no way better "latest development."
It is a sad day indeed when a person with a perfect bicycle is reduced to actually riding it. My heart bleeds for you.

Go out and ride! Beyond that you could go N+1 and build up something you don't have.

If it's working for you, why would you be thinking about another bike etc etc rather than riding? Never understood the "n+1" obsession, but I guess that's just me. I can see making a change or getting something else for specific reasons, but other than that ... isn't the point to ride the bloody thing(s)?!?

Much truth in that. Road bike, mountain bike, vintage tourer for an occasional spin, and thinkin' about/will most likely be soon picking up a fendered cruiser for bad weather/winter utility use. Same reason I have a 4x4 truck and a GT sedan and wife has a manual transmission sports coupe as her daily driver.
