If I had that kind of skill and lived in a place like that, such words would be far beneath my notice.

Now I know I am getting older. Not only do I have no desire to do that, I can't imagine anyone taking the time to learn it.

Yes because we should spread something not related to cycling in any way, shape, or form other than the device used to play the sport. Freestyle biking is about as similar to cycling as gymnastics is to running.

Seriously, the majority of the cyclists on this site are old enough not to care what someone thinks about the clothes we wear and the exercises we partake in.

Saw that - if I were a lot younger I would try to get into parkour - this is the bike equivalent - takes great athleticism as well as guts.

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

Every time I see a Danny MacAskill video I marvel not only at his consummate skill, but at his unbelievable confidence.

But I have to wonder --

Imagine you live in a hillside home on Las Palmas. You're sunning yourself on your patio, enjoying an ice cold sangria, and without warning a man on a bicycle falls down from the sky, says "buenos dias",and pedals off over the edge.

Trials riding (not "freestyle biking") most certainly is a form of cycling, and is recognized as such and as a competitive cycling discipline by the UCI: (observed) trials riding. Danny MacAskill is a trials rider.

Bikes: Too many to list here

So, if I get myself the same bike and clothes, I can do that too?

Where did I say it wasn't a competitive cycling discipline? That does not mean it's similar to the type of cycling the OP is referring to in any way. "Trials" riders don't generally wear spandex and probably couldn't be described as girly. Showing someone who is making fun of road "cycling" (where the term is usually used) is like showing someone a video of a gymnast when they make fun of running. "But look, he's running too!"

These are two completely different sports that happen to use roughly the same shaped apparatus. Period. Even that point is debatable... have you seen trials bikes?

My point in mentioning the UCI was simply to underscore the fact that trials riding is a recognized discipline or form of cycling -- a fact that your original post appears to deny. As qualified and elaborated above, I completely agree.

As I understand it, this wasn't the run GoPro would have preferred to use but he didn't make through the fourth take and they were forced to cheat splice.

The aforementioned Imaginate video - even has a blooper reel at the end, which is funny because I was starting to think of Jackie Chan and his many injuries from doing his own stunts, as well as the blooper reels at the end of some of Jackie's movies.

Funny stuff. I find the bloopers often more entertaining than the rest!

While I do often wear tights, if anyone challenges my manliness I'll challenge theirs... to a wood chopping competition. Nothing more manly then splitting wood with an axe right?

Here is this winters heat supply. I split everything by hand. That's a good 4+ full cords, took me a couple months to split it all...

I may not be a big burly dude but if you challenge my manliness you better be ready to swing an axe.

Does the name Martyn Ashton ring a bell? He didn't die but was paralyzed from a fall during a bicycle stunt show. I don't remember who the sponsor of the event was but Ashton became famous for his Road Bike Party video. I'm sure the companies who sponsor these types of videos have a bus-load of lawyers with a truck-load of contracts and release forms to cover their backsides.
