Salute them instead
Instead of the wave or the nod, I've decided to go to the next logical step and SALUTE them.
I mean, shouldn't we have been doing this all along?
We already respect them.....they're on bikes, right?
The wave or the nod, they've become expected, like a generic "good morning" or "how are you" issued by everyone.
But a SALUTE, now those are reserved for a special few. The people we admire and find intelligent. The people who make a difference.....
You know......cyclists.
I'm going to salute everyone instead now and not only that, I'm going to demand to be saluted by others on the street.
On your feet, soldiers! Now, salute me.

I must admit I've "saluted" some of the idiot drivers we have here in Atlanta who like to honk their horn while they are right next to me.

When I'm flying along at a blistering 8knots, I don't dare remove a hand from the steering bar to salute Or wave; I just frantically bob my upper body and head up and down frantically in my finest Fred manner.
