Classic zero reach quill stem for upright riding posture?

Does anyone know if there is a handlebar stem available with a zero reach? Stem should be standard 22.2 mm diameter with 25.4 mm clamp. Like this one but in alloy and for adults?

It is going on a classic city bicycle, like a Linus Dutchi.

BMX stems commonly had very short reach, but were built...um...stoutly:

Might work for you, if aesthetics don't matter. PG

You can always use a handlebar shim as well if you can't find 25.4mm clamp diameter. There's plenty more out there. Google is your friend.

sunlite tco piston quill stem is about as short as you are going to find in a new quill stem.

I was going to suggest the Nitto Dirt Drop but somebody beat me to it. Although not "zero" reach, with the rise it's pretty close to it.

The 80mm 35° dirt drop is about the same reach as a 70mm -17° stem. It's more for getting the bars high than close if that's what you are looking for.

I really like this calculator for comparing different stems. That sunlite is a 40mm 40° stem if you want to plug it in and see where it ends up relative to other stems you are considering.

Nashbar has one that's not 'zero' but really high angled. Its not polished and pretty, but it works on the bicycle I have it on.

Swipe one from a Globe Carmel - but not from mine, please. But I think it's a 1-1/8" diameter and 25.4mm clamp. Minimal reach. I recently dropped mine around 3", from nearly fully elevated to fully down and I needed only a couple of rides to become accustomed to the change.

I ordered one of these last year. For some odd reason they sent me two instead of one. It's a decent stem. The shaft is chrome steel but the clamp is alloy.

Yes, that's actually the sort of thing I was looking for. Out of curiosity, what's the weight in grams?

I was looking at this one here:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...A1J160NEEMK233

I don't need the extra length, though, nor the extra rise. It has a chromed steel stem as well with alloy top. Wish I could find one in 100% alloy.

Yep. That looks like a pretty good one. I suppose if you were good with a hacksaw & could cut the proper angle & shorten the wedge bolt you could shorten it.

With a threadless stem, an adjustable stem with a 60 degree rise, in reality effective 70 degree rise is available.

You can get your bars up high and close for a comfortable upright riding position.
