Mine are kept in the "Man/Bike cave." It's a work in progress.
The winter bikes are confined to the garage, too messy to be inside.

Besides the one bike I have indoor on the rollers for winter, I keep em in my garage. I'm getting quite a few and they are taking up space, so I have some ideas about building a rack that will hold a few with a power winch that will raise it up above the ceiling area into the trusses.

I keep both of mine in the house. Mainly because I have a roommate who has been known to leave the garage door open at times. There's not really a way to lock them up in my garage. Our place was built pretty cheaply and there's a lack of studs in the garage so can't put a good rack in there. Pretty sure it's not up to code. Anyway, I had one similar to what @RonH had in his garage but couldn't find a place to secure is properly.

My bikes are all in the garage for now.
Back in the day though, I bought a new Honda sportbike when they were on sale in early winter. It was too late in the season to ride, so I brought it home and stored it in the library for the winter. You could see it through the windows when you drove past the house!

I keep my bicycle in my unfinished basement. Concrete walls and a painted concrete floor. A bit nippy in the winter with temperatures around 60 F but nice and cool in the summer. I keep the valuable, to me, bicycles locked up to a support pillar made out of a 12" square timber with a 2" logging chain. A 6 foot long double tube fluorescent light keeps everything nice and bright. No vermin with 4 cats on patrol.

At the moment it's in a spare bedroom. My wife does not approve, but this house has no garage, and keeping it on the carport is not an option. Things disappear ...

My garage has a very high ceiling. I got those pulley system devices that hold the bikes in the air. $39 and a wise investment for me in that it keeps the garage clutter free.

Use it as a seat when at the computer, if I'm not standing while using it. Winter i use the bike as a seat by the computer more often...

Right now 4 are in the garage and 1 is in the living room where it will probably stay as it's my "nice" one.

I keep mine in a temperature and humidity-controlled sealed room that is flushed with an argon atmosphere, as this inert gas preserves the delicate sidewalls of my Compass tires and prevents corrosion of their steel frames. As an added benefit, anyone who tries to steal them will be suffocated due to the lack of oxygen (should they make it past the dogs, fences and alarm system). Of course, having to use a self-contained breathing apparatus to get one out to ride or to do maintenance on can be inconvenient, but this is a small price to pay when housing your trusty steeds.
I cannot for the life of me understand why some people don't bother with these sorts of precautions.

For what it's worth most of my bikes are in the garage, but I have two or three in regular use in the shed close to hand, and on cold winter nights whichever bike I'm using as a commuter is allowed into the kitchen so I can just wheel it out the door and go.

All my bikes live happily in the garage. The only OCD thing I do is bring the tensioned leather saddles indoors for the winter months.

I travel for work so during the week whatever I'm riding is in the motel room or apartment. At home my main ride stays on the back porch and the others in my work area in the garage. The biggest thing is even non riders pretty well know what the price of bikes are now and a lot come up missing.
