What sort of insurance? I doubt you need health insurance. A friend of mine came back from the UK last year. He went to the hospital after a minor accident. When he asked how much the bill would be, the hospital staff was puzzled. They were not aware he was from the last so-called "civilized" nation where medical treatment is related to personal wealth, or to having private insurance.
My friend can't get over it "Golly, in England, the only requirement to obtain medical treatment is that you needed it..."

In Australia I had a severe crash, and wound up paying a whopping $40 for x-rays. Here I had a crash and broke a collarbone, and paid over $900 for x-rays... there is something to be said for universal healthcare. I had some traveler's insurance policy that covered the $40 on top of that, but cost me a lot more than $40 to get. I don't think insurance was worth it.

In the UK, medical treatment for emergencies is as good and quick as any and is free. Even the helicopter/mountain rescue is free. Insurance is always a good idea, esp if you might need an ambulance aircraft to take you home.

In Spain; however; their stuff is quick and cheap. A couple of my friends got sick and got all kinds of stuff fast and free.

As I said, real emergency treatment is quick and effective. Non emergency treatment can be much slower, it depends what/how/when.
I have had very good knee surgey on the NHS very rapidly, but people can wait for 18months for a hip replacement.
If you try getting non-emergency or minor treatment on a Friday night at a big city centre A&E you will be in for a long wait.
There is nothing to stop people going private if they have the money.
