The other thread got me to thinking we need a new approach to bikes and clothing.
Aluminum and carbon reproductions of the great military-inspired uprights of the past.
Clipless shoes in a wider variety of styles:
Padded shorts that look like cutoff jeans
Bib shorts that look like cutoff overalls
Jerseys in concert t-shirt prints
Fedora and cowboy hat helmets

Clipless shoes in a wider variety of styles:
- Cowboy boots
- Converse All Stars
- Combat boots
- Stiletto heels
- Nice Oxfords

I will admit to a significant number of google searches for either a full-up conversion of Chucks, or a Chuck-esque SPD compatible shoe.

OP..undoubtedly with this post you're standing taller, feeling more confident, perhaps even (dare I say) ever-so-slightly superior. Much cheaper than therapy..so kudos there..

What if the cleat in those Oxfords were twist lock removable, and one doubled as a cell phone? Might need an earbud, but could have Siri like capabilities to make calls, get audio of current news, search results, voice text, etc.
