Follow up on ordering from Germany

I posted here a few weeks ago about saving money on Ortlieb panniers by ordering from Amazon.de. The panniers arrived today, and there were no additional taxes or import duties.

If you need something right away you're out of luck, but if you can be a bit patient you can definitely save money this way.

I hear Amazon UK is having a sitewide 10% discount right about now

I've never had much of an issue getting little shipments into the US myself. I'm sure someday I'll get a notification that I owe some sort of duty, I just don't see CBP dealing much with shipments valued at $200.

I signed in with my standard Amazon account and changed my language to English.

I believe the current "de minimis" limit for importing for personal use (CBP doesn't bother with it) is USD$800.
