Drop-style bar ends

OOOYEA! Nice drops. You could always add the barend of your choice to top it off. I highly recommend cutting some off the end of the handlebars to get a comfortable width, so a straight bar might be better than risers if you have gripshift. Drops are nice vs headwinds and on descents

urban_assault: thank you for posting that link.
I took a chance and ordered a set of those. My initial impressions: these are great! But... shifting & braking is a little hairy.... to be expected from such an arrangement. AND, this brand's attachment bolt on with two hex wrench screws of unusual sizes, i.e., those not found in most bike tool kits (2.5mm?). Also, there's a little flex to them due to the material used. However, despite these little things, as we say in the music biz, these things "rock"!

well, glad you revived it...i see they still sell them...and i am thinking of getting them for some insane, dorka** cx/mtb conversion...
for the price, it's not a bad gamble.
i don't mind having to switch back up for shifting (grips) or braking. i see them as a quick aero positioning and, maybe, a better position to be in when you endo...
ha. but really, are they the only folks who make these?

The Origin8 drop bar ends are 22.2mm or 7/8" clamp diameter and designed to fit standard MTB bars IIRC. They should fit about any straight bar. Note that if a bar they are mounted to has any sweep back the bar ends will angle in by the angle of the sweepback of the bars they are mounted to.

Wow, thanks for the memories. 16 years old, a new record for me. I'm going to stay subscribed to this thread so I can be surprised again in 2034.
