I try to get on the turbo about twice a week, I still Ride 3 times a week but I try to do interval training on the turbo due to the cold. I ride about 40 minutes to an hour on the trainer but it is a really intense 40 minutes.

I am a big proponent of TrainerRoad and do most of my weekly training indoors. Although I prefer to do longer rides (i.e., longer than 90 minutes) outside on the weekend, I've gone as long as three hours on the trainer when something like a bad storm has prevented me from riding outdoors.

Turbo? Tough with the studded tires, but coffee and bacon help. Some people ride bikes all year round. Studded tires, wool, fleece and a big cup of HTFU help. YRMV.

Three hours is a monster ride on the turbo, after 1.5 hours my ass calls off the ride. Might be because i dont get out of the saddle much on the turbo...
