What should I get?

I'm thinking of getting a new bike, but I'm not sure what would suit me best. I do a lot of trail riding, dirt jumps up to a metre and a half, rough pavement, and I'm just starting on wheelies and bunny hops. Problem is, I can't spend that much money either.. What do you think would be best?

This is such a general question that no one would be able to help you except suggest random bikes you might or might not like. A price range for starters would be nice.

4.5 foot drops? Keep saving would be my suggestion.

Sounds like you're already working up to pretty hard-core mountain biking. Like the man says, for 600.00 you're going to get an entry-level bike that will probably make you unhappy in a short time.

For about 1000.00, you start getting into the range of really nice bikes. You can pick up Specialized, Trek, Schwinn, and a host of others in that range that are light, have good components, and will serve you well.

I had a Schwinn Moab III that was an absolute delight in that price range.

Was that before the Pacific buyout? If so it was probably a very good bike just as GT used to be a good bike before Pacific purchased them.

I'd guess 6-7 years ago. That was the top-of-the-line in the Moab series, with all LX and XT components, save for the Avid brakes. Rockshox Judy forks, WTB saddle, very nice. Liked it better each time I took it out.
