Help ! Ridgeback hybrid or a norco !

hello everyone ! I hope you can help me ! I am literally walking distance from my flat to the 35 mile Viking trail in Ramsgate , Kent and the sun is shining and I am dying to get out there and cycle daily ( plus forest trails etc.. ) but I am having a headache trying to find a bike for me - I figured out Hybrid but I am not stuck on a Norco which is more £££ or my old love and what I have had in the past a Hybrid Ridgeback , I have my eye on the Norco XRF 3 FORMA 2017 HYBRID BIKE which does have fatter tyres - I am figuring that bigger tyres would be better on holes , curbs coming down etc.. than a slimmer wheeled Ridgeback ...and what the hell is suspension do I need it - THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP - I AM HOPING TO BUY SOMETHING AT THE END OF THE DAY AS I AM DYING TO GET ON THAT CYCLE PATH -

Agree with the test riding comment. However, if this trail is a dirt trail the advantages of a wider tire would be useful. If this trail is more paved either with asphalt or crushed limestone, almost any bike will do. I will say if you don't feel like a bada** on your bike you won't ride it as much as you would if you did feel like a bada**.

If you're on a cycle path, you do not need suspension. In fact, suspension is likely a bad idea.

If you're looking to buy a bike TODAY, go to the bike shop and buy whatever is on the shelf that fits you and you can afford. That is pretty much the only answer.

Not going to go there on suspension. Some love some hate. But if a choice a lockout on suspension is a nice option.
