Bikes: ...a few.

They look like entry-level hardtail MTB's. All else being equal, the first one has hydro brakes, the second does not specify, so I assume it's mechanical. I'd go with the first.

The bike that fits better. Athough, I'd prefer hydro over mech discs.

Bikes: '97 Klein Quantum '16 Gravity Knockout

Looks like the most expensive part between the two of 'em is the hydro brake levers on no. 1! My take is that they are cheap low-quality bikes, thrown together with disc brakes as the main selling point.
