Should I start a YT channel?

I have been considering on making a Youtube channel on my bikes and such. Maybe some inspiration from older Doug Demuro videos and other channels. I'd do videos on my Specialized Crosstrail and Specialized Allez, plus road riding and mountain biking in general. I'd need to try making it entertaining, so should I? Heck, maybe review some of my friend's bikes.

Thoughts?
Be brutally honest if you want.

If you are convinced that you can develop content for and maintain a YouTube channel, then I'd say "go for it."

Do you intend to just "wing it" and start filming stuff that occurs to you? That's cool, but the results will be amateurish and you won't get any following... and your channel will die the typical death after a few weeks. Sorry.

Do you have any particular expertise? Can this be applied to the content? Do you intend to monetize this? How will you attract products or sponsors? What content can bring in potential viewers?

However, you have to be realistic about your production capabilities. Do you have film editing software with which you're familiar? How about a decent camera with remote control? Lighting? Do you need a production assistant? Who will write your scripting and design the shoots? Do you have any experience with this? Or will you take a community college class on production?

What about introductory scenes to give your channel it's branding...have you any experience with CGI or other design techniques to build a 10-second intro? Have you thought about music and sound quality?

What about funding...what are you willing to invest to get this started? Can you prioritize your first few investments to get basic production capability up and running?

Just my first few thoughts...

Just my first few thoughts...

I have decent experience with a good editor, using it for some school projects and other things. I have a decent USB Microphone (Blue Snowball) as for a camera, I don't have one really. But I have a phone and Xiaomi Yi. I think I have enough experience. For ads, I may think about it later down the line as this may be just for fun right now. I haven't taken any classes since I've had no need. I'm still thinking on how to make it entertaining. Thanks for taking the time to write this super long response.
