How not to design a junction

Fascinating article in Singletrack about why the same accident keeps happening at a particular junction in the New Forest. I'd never heard of CBDR, though I'm sure others here will be familiar with it.

Excellent article! A must read for cyclists (and motorists).

There is already a thread about this: Geometry is Killing us. Literally at one intersection.

I saw the other thread, and but didn't remember it until you pointed it out. So, okay...both are important reads!

There are also collisions between motor vehicles at that crossing. This kinda sidelines the respectfully exhaustive scientific reasons behind the accidents. I think the reasons are far simpler. These reasons have caused me to give up on the roads.

Perhaps there's another possible approach to promoting due care and attention...

Have to say I was surprised that I couldn't find another thread on it.
