Hello! My steel frame bike from state bike co arrived with a micro dent and I’m torn on if I should send it back for a new one of just bite the bullet and accept this minor imperfection. This bike was going to be my single speed cruiser/commuter/beater? Please tell me if I’m being a bit looney here or if sending it back is justified. Also sorry for the weird link format it won’t let me post a URL lol

Have yous guys looked at all of the pics? A dent and scratch on a bike that is brand new and not being sold as "scratch and dent" would be a problem to me- and I'm not a fussbudget.
My used Klein arrived with a dent a little bigger than that and a hole in the box, and I ended up getting half of what I paid for the bike from UPS.
It wouldn't bother me so much if I put it there, from regular use....but knowing it came like that from day one, when you paid for something brand new....it'd be a thorn in the flesh continually.
And to hell with the seller's return policy! They sent you damaged merchandise; you are entitled to compensation or exchange for another one at no cost to you.
It's not like it's a $99 Walmart BSO. $900 is a fair bit of change, and you shouldn't have to accept damaged goods for that kind of money.Looks like a nice bike. If you wanted damage though, you could have bought used and have gotten it even cheaper. So I say, follow up and get them to make good on it. It'll never seem like it was new, having damage right out of the box.

You paid for an undented bike, regardless of what you are going to do with it. If it isn't a big deal, contact the maker and have them discount the bike. I'm sure they would prefer to give you a rebate rather than send a call tag.

A couple of Christmases ago I bought a ProLite The One 650c road bike for my daughter. The box was damaged and it was obvious that it had been thrown around in transit. There was slight damage to one brifter and the front brake - easily fixed. As I finished the repairs I noticed several very slight dents in the frame which looked as though the bike has been slammed on its side. These dents were every tiny and looked as though the bare cables had somehow been pushed into the frame.
I contacted the very big retailer via email including photos of the dents. They phoned me within a few minutes and asked me if I thought the dents had happened in transit. I said I didn't think the bike had left the factory damaged, so yes.
They arranged to send a new bike free of charge and asked me to hang on to the damaged one while they claimed insurance from AusPost.
The new bike arrived a week later and they never asked me to return the first one.
My son will be growing out of his 24" road bike in a year or so and the bike is waiting in it's box for when he's ready.

AGREED! Unless it was discounted because of said damage i would make them replace the frame. This is apples to oranges but if you purchased a brand new car with a door ding in it would you keep it or make them fix/replace it? Why should our standards for our bicycles be any lower because it was only $$$ instead of $$$$$? I say make them make it right.
I have had 2 bikes shipped to me, never had an issue once so there are issues with shipping I guess too? Maybe?
No excuse for this IMO, remember its just my opinon.

You must be a lot younger than I am - there's no way I could even see such a small "dent" in person. Of course my eyes are getting a bit worse.
In any event, there's no way I'd go through the hassle of returning. Life is too short to worry about such things to me.
