UGH!!! Insomnia
I hate this, I just woke up after 2 1/2 hours of sleep. It is 1:00 am. I guess I will go for my ride now. Does this ever happen to anyone else? Good thing I have three back lights and a bright headlight.

I feel your pain. Here in Latvia at this time of year the sun sets at around midnight and rises at about 3:30AM. It makes sleeping rather difficult. I feel like a child who has been sent to bed without his dinner going to bed while it is still light out.

wow... you guys are pretty well north... I'm in TN in the US and we're just north of 35* north, you guys are 57* north... so I can see why the sun isn't down for very long. That must be a weird feeling for sure.

I am in Southern California. The funny thing is, whenever I can't sleep I have fantastic rides. The weird thing is when I am riding and can smell cigarette smoke but I don't see anyone. Whenever I ride in the middle of the night (about once a month) I always see people who arent' there, and I love when dogs bark and wake up the owners. I also like the fact that there are not many cars. I just rode 27 miles and I would say that less than 5 cars passed me from behind. I probably (I can never spell that word) only saw a total of 15 cars altogether. The temp is 67 degrees so it is a beautiful night for riding. The only thing that stinks is now I will be tired when I get up in about 3 hours.

I ride late at night quite often... In my opinion it's my favorite time to ride, especially when I basically have the roads to myself. The amusing part is the look on people's faces when they see me out riding around having a blast... Not that I care, I absolutely love it. The only thing that's lame about nighttime in TN is the fact that the humidity is always 90-95% at 70 degrees. I sweat like crazy even though the sun isn't even out.
