You would need to add: as long as it doesn't encroach on the rights/freedom/etc. of others.

Then I would agree.

Well.. to each their own. I just figure, if manhood is based on the clothes one wears, I might as well shop in the right places.

Like men's stores? This is unequivocal.

I think a lot of posters misunderstood OPs original question. ..OP was asking about wearing tights for casual purposes and not when riding a bike.
Personally I always wear baggy shorts over tights even when riding a bike or exercising.

They're saying that they don't wear them even then.

I'm not advocating that men should be running around in tights, but just for the record, I've seen people in jammies at the market. And lets not forget that the T-shirts was originally underwear.

What? So some guy wearing tights to the grocery store somehow encroaches on your rights and freedoms?:foo:

If it is for a dude than it would be called a bro not a bra. Or possibly a man-zeer.

Fully kitted "real cyclist" do look rather cartoonish. So if you go into store etc, just keep your helmet on. People will ignore you.

I agree, I don't have a problem with shorts/tights ON THE BIKE but when I ordered my shop kit this year they asked about the jersey because I ordered it two sizes larger. I said I like sausages but I don't want to look like a stuffed sausage. When I stop for coffee I might need room for pie.

This entire thread is taking on a bit of a level of weird and creepy...

Unsubscribed.

I don't think we should all rush to meet the lowest common denominator.

But where will the lowering of standards of appropriateness stop? Doesn't the line need to be drawn somewhere? Not too long ago people dressed a certain way as a measure of respect, whether it be for a funeral, a wedding, church, or for fellow shoppers at the department store. You would doff your cap for the anthem, or a prayer, or a funeral passing by. At some point this transition has or will change from just being 'society's progression' to 'I don't give a rat's ass about anybody else, so here's my fat ass and hanging schlong for your viewing pleasure'.
