Frames specifically for flat bars

First post from this newbie.

I’m interested in building a steel frame bike with flat bars and wider tires. I currently have a flat bar Bianchi Torino with 28’s and a 3x8 drivetrain. I’m not in for top speed, just comfort for a couple hours in the saddle several times a week.

Is is there a manufacturer that sells frame sets specifically designed for flat bars? I see Salsa and Surly offer frames, but the vast majority are for drops.

thanks in advance.

I would look at the complete bikes for anything I was interested in and pick one that was built for flat bars. The main difference between drop bar and flat bar bikes is that flat bar bikes have longer top tubes. If a more upright position is what you are after, this might not matter much to you. Note that OEMs get much better prices on components than you will, so buying a complete bike is going to be cheaper. You might also look at hybrids, most of them will take wider tires.
