karim cycles! bay area folks rejoice...

apparently this has been all over craigslist, but i can't stand the "forums" there, so i just found this out this morning...
berkeley PD raided karim's shop on wednesday... ended up taking a handful of bikes that had serials that were reported stolen, or had been altered or removed...
i found a stolen bike of mine there, but didn't have the serial number so i couldn't do anything about it... same thing has happened to other people i know...
now if it could just get taken one step further karim would be hung... happy days...

She call the cops over there, I think, so I guess I'll find out when she gets off work. Wouldn't that be awesome though??

i assume that, because this person has been selling stolen bicycles, you are not actually in favor of him (her?) being granted a large penis. if that's the case, i think the word you are looking for is "hanged."

i will also assume that the death penalty is not something you seriously want to consider ... for this matter or any other. but i am less confident about that assumption than my previous one.

death to the grammer fascists...

that said, i really wouldn't much mind if karim got shot... he's been buying stolen bikes off of crackheads for way too long... his shop is notorious, if you live in the bay area, namely the east bay, and are into bikes you know this shop... and he's just an ass in general... i hated this guy before i found one of my bikes in his shop... example: i stopped by and asked if i could use a chain breaker, he said no but tried to sell me a used no-name one with a bent pin for $13...

mostly i am just very happy that he is on his way to being shutdown and some people might be getting their bikes back...
plus upwards of 500 bikes could be showing up at a police auction...

i rented a bike from karim once and that night it was stolen from my place. then they charged me $50 more than the price tag i'd been staring at the previous day while riding the bike. they also mentioned that the bike "will probably turn up at their shop"
bad karma indeed.

Complete BS. That shop should be closed. Ask anyone in Berkeley and they'll tell you if your bike is missing chances are you can find it in karims.
