UK - ITV TDF Coverage?

A question for the brits!

as i'm not in uk for the tour coverage, how have ITV gone about showing the tdf? just interested to know after hearing last year that they had taken up the rights to broadcast the race this year and for the next two years. i heard ITV had planned to show live stages on the ITV Sport channel then highlights on ITV1? what sort of times have they been showing the race?

Pretty much live on ITV2 (don't have it myself but fortunately a neighbour does) ITV1 has an hour and a half highlight prog. once a week around midnight.

ITV2 doesn't exist any more as they went bust after spending toomuch on the football! Terestrial digital TV's gone down the pan! BBC have taken it over with all the completely free channels. Like BBC Choice.

I think it will all be on ITV 1 now...

Is this right?

so if you haven't got ITV2, all UK viewers get to see is a once-a-week 90 minute programme if you stay up until 1:30am to see the show!? that's *****, what a joke.

well in comparison, here in oz we get a programme similar to what the channel 4 show was like. ie, a 30 minute programme shown at 6pm on sbs with phil liggett and paul sherwen commentating but without the cheese tasting/wine tasting gary imlach crap!

Indeed, coverage for UK terrestrial viewers is as crap as it was last year, despite being promised daily highlights on ITV1. Also any very brief news coverage fails to mention David Millar's good progress (White jersey etc.) - philistines

Yep it's still on ITV2, but I've been watching it on Eurosport.

whilst I know that commentating on the time trials must be hard, today's commentaries was just surreal, at one point the commentator decided to fill in by telling people what they had to eat at a restaurant they went to the night before (if your interested I think he had Fish soup and somebody else had steak ), they also went on to tell us about what car they a driving around in.

It's shown about 11pm UK time for about 30 mins. Same format as Channel 4, Phil Liggett commentates (the best of the bunch). You can get it live on Eurosport but the commentary is endless waffle.
