I have a hard enough time riding no hands. It took her years of practice to get there, lots of skill there.

More like Central Europe thing - it is practiced mainly in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, and Slovakia, and is pretty much nonexistent outside that region. There quite a few videos on youtube; the team performances are the most impressive, imho.

Speaking of somewhat weird types of cycling competitions, there's also cycle speedway, mostly practiced in UK:

Beautiful..... I actually have a little bit in common with Viola..... I can ride backwards on a bike and I don't wear a helmet . .

Kunstrad is what they call it in Germany. Long a fixture on the old Captain Kangaroo show, there was just enough room in the Treasure House for a performance. Also, the '80s Kevin Bacon movie Quicksilver featured a Kunstrad segment during the scene when the messengers were hanging out at the office.
