Sunday Ride - Myakka River State Park

Beautiful Sunday morning ride through this southwest Florida state park. Looping out and back from the ranger station, you can get a 14 mile ride on the pavement. There are miles and miles of mountain bike trails, hiking and horseback trails as well.

I went in search of shade - and early in the morning, the entire road is mostly shaded. Lots of birds and wildlife. Just missed running over a pigmy rattlesnake - thought it was a stick, and did I mention alligators? Very few cars and speed limit of 25 mph makes for fantastic riding!

The park is locted just east of Sarasota, FL and well worth seeing!
