The best bike-related one I encountered was a long time ago. Adventure Cycling Association publishes a magazine called "Adventure Cyclist." One spring edition contained a review of a book tracing the history and evolution of the spoke nipple. The review was written so well it sounded 100% real. I could just imagine some bike nut with too much time on his hand writing such a book.

I finally caught on after reading a couple of other bits on the same page, one of which was obviously a joke. I emailed ACA to tell them "Good job!" Someone write back and told me they got a lot of emails from people who fell for it.
