does anyone know of a place for cyclists to Chat either though the web... such as yahoo chat... or better yet on an actual Internet Relay Chat server?
I've been searching and searching but I haven't come up with much of anything decent. If there is none I may attempt to start my own.

Yea... that's my thinking as well regarding whether to be riding of slumped over the machine chatting. Efnet as a whole is populated with a huge number of snobs in general.
Thanks for the input.

chris, Im going to be doing a huge re-design on this site with new software hopefully this week. The nice thing about the new software, is i will beable to co-brand the forums with other webmasters. With the cobranding of other webmasters, these forums will really take off (not just me promoting them, posibly 20, maybe 50 webmasters promoting them on there sites).
Once i have 50+ concurrent users on these forums. I will add a java chat program for thoes who want to chat in real time.

If your interested, you can check out the updated software at https://www.bikeforums.com/v2/index.php , its still in beta, and there are a few bugs to be worked out, thats why im not running the software in the main forums.
Feel free to register and play around with all the features, if you find bugs, let me know

Hi Joe,
I really like this site, and can't wait for the 2nd version to take off...
I've spread the word in the local Cyclo-cross web page I frequent...
Cheers for all your hard work
Rich
