ACCIDENT riding on the sidewalk going against the flow
 

I just got hit Saturday and I was on the sidewalk riding against the flow of traffic. There was a tire shop with a huge sign on the street that was blocking the cars view, at least its a factor. The Honda that was turning into the tire shop driveway almost ran me over. I was avoiding him slammed to the ground. My bike is OK but I have a broken arm and my back is having having problems. I have a attorney ....what do you guys think?

Wifey broke her wrist crashing her bike July 4 2018 and when I ride w her now I’m always scared and recently mentioned to her that if she goes off the edge not to panic just roll to a stop and don’t try to get back on - seeing as you just lived this, would you say that’s practical advice?

Been there, done that. I opted for no surgery, which was the right choice for me, but taking it easy while healing was miserable.

This thread has taken an interesting turn. Kind of like watching food spoil in ways you haven't imagined.

Definitely. And I think I knew it at the time. But it all seemed to happen in slow motion.

Seems like a cyclist's right of passage. I'll see what the orthopedist thinks but it looks like a clean break so I'm hoping not to need surgery. At least we're heading into winter. I'm a weather weenie and would probably be hanging the bike up soon anyway.
