Took a hard fall!
 

I was riding in a nice trail in Altamonte Springs, FL this morning and went on the grass, and as I was trying to get back on the pavement it was too steep causing wipe out.

This is the 2018 Specialized Roubaix with the Shimano Tiagra groupset.

I fixed the stem and the shifter by adjusting them back into place. The problem is the rear derailleur, it's all out of whack and I was wondering if this is just a good sign to upgrade to Shimano 105 group set or just try to adjust it?

UPDATE 10/30/2019:

Picked the bike up today from the LBS and they performed the following:

1. Hanger alignment
2. Rear Hub adjustment (it had some play he showed me during the visit)
3. Future Shock recall replacement (Free)

And I purchased the Hanger they had instock from wheelsmfg

Got home gave the bike and good full wash

She is ready to go for a ride this weekend.

You likely bent the hanger. They are replaceable on your Specialized. It may only need to be bent back but that’s difficult to say without seeing it in person. Best to take it to the shop you bought it from and have them check it.

Best guess without photos is that your derailleur tab was bent in the crash. Thankfully the part is replaceable. It would be easiest to take the bike to the dealer, and let them check for damage to the frame. If you specify that you're ok with superficial damage, it shouldn't cost too much to repair (in relation to value of the bike).

Crashing is expensive!

Huh? I don’t get the joke. It’s called a derailleur hanger. It’s replaceable. You can even find the one you need (hanger 146) here. Your local Specialized dealer will probably have them.

I didnt know what a hanger was...Google and youtube have resolved this. haha

It was such a dumb fall, I unclipped my left foot and then the impact made me fall on the right, and I was not able to unclip my right foot causing the embarrassing fall on a trail

You can probably bend that hanger back to straight and continue using it but DO NOT do the bending while it is on the frame. More than a few frames have been broken doing that. Put the hanger in a bench vise. (With steel frames, you can bend the hanger to straight with no issue but that is not true with other materials, especially carbon fiber.). The tool used to check the alignment of the dropout is also used on steel frames to do the bending. Don't even think about doing that on yours.

If you bend yours back, remember, this is only a temporary fix until you find a new hanger. Your bent-back hanger WILL break. Aluminum does not like being twice bent. If it does break, it will cost you a lot. Quite possibly a crash, damage to your frame, damage to your wheel and the derailleur will be destroyed. This is only so you can ride while searching for a replacement. If you cannot find one soon, have one made. (Not rocket science. They are plate aluminum cut to shape, drilled and tapped. Any machinist can make one. But full list price at a bike shop will be FAR cheaper.)

It may be all that is needed is to straighten the hanger, but to do the job properly requires a specialized tool. There is a risk that straightening the hanger will break it, as the hangers are designed to fail easier than the frame to which they are attached. If that should happen, the shop is in the best position to source the proper replacement part.

That looks like a derailleur hangar extension rather than a derailleur hangar. You can buy one similar to it on eBay for $4.45 postpaid. "1Pc Hanger Extension Rear Derailleur Frame Gear Tail Hook For Road Mountain US" Just enter that description in the eBay search box.

That hanger would appear to be a Wheels Mfg. #284.

"Replacement derailleur hanger for Specialized Diverge, CruX and Roubaix Carbon with Specialized SCS 135x12 thru-axle system and standard mount rear derailleurs."

My OCD is killing me and having the shifter and the rear derailleur scratched up not helping...going to upgrade the groupset

Simple. Go to lbs; have them straighten the hanger with a proper alignment tool. Everything will be fine. At the same time, order a new hanger to have in reserve.

Whether or not you 'upgrade' your drivetrain, you will at some point need a replacement derailleur hanger.

Got her ridable again, will take her to the shop tomorrow. Have to find a new nice shop since I moved to FL in July from NYC (I got the bike in NYC)

The main risk of a bent hanger is that the derailleur will be able to shift into the spokes. Verify by hand, gently, that shifting onto the biggest cog does not hit the spokes.

did you fall to the left or the right? we've got a casual count going, where we've found most ppl fall to the left. don't think it means anything really, but it might

Time for a new bike.

It was weird, I started falling to the left unclipped my left leg in time but the impact made me go to the right where I wasnt able to unclip fast enough.

The wife will kill me, she's already pissed I got the baby for her 3rd bday a Specialized RipRock Coaster 16 hehehe.

I had a similar fall on Saturday. My bike is fine but I broke my clavicle.
