Back and forth now on what I want to do. Garmin 25 or Xoss. I like the Xoss and I like the Garmin 25 and the map feature it has and the fact that it's Garmin. What I don't like is that it's a 4 year old unit but it does have Regular GPS and Glonass. On the fence.

Just a note that whichever you choose, I’d not be using both devices on an activity and sending both to Strava. It gets confused.

I wouldn't do that. I'm sending the Xoss back if I buy this Garmin Edge 25. I'm probably just going to go ahead and grab the Edge 25. It's used so I'll be stuck with it if I get it but I haven't not liked any Garmin I have used. It's got all the features I need as well and my heart rate strap will work with it.

Got another question. I've been told you can broadcast heartrate to edge device with a forerunner watch. I have a 235 and a 635, does anyone know if that is possible. I would rather do that than wear a chest strap, both my watches are pretty close to accurate based on comparing to what the doctor was reading. Thanks for any help.

Yeah, the XOSS app has a few quirks that I'm hoping they'll fix. It defaults to metric, and I still think in Murkin. But it all translates on Strava.
The bike info section doesn't seem to memorize my custom input. It finally memorized my bike, but not the weight -- it defaults to 22 lbs.
Some users complain about the calorie estimate but I don't worry about that. I'm not trying to lose weight and I already know what I need to do to lose that 3-5 lbs of belly pudge if I really wanted to get back to my optimal weight. I just need to cut out the sugar and cut back on the junk carbs. But I'm not that concerned about a few lbs.
I might eventually get a better bike computer, but these two XOSS G+ units will be fine for my workouts and casual rides. If I ever need real navigation aids I'll consider a Garmin, Wahoo, Lezyne or Bryton.

Is a Garmin edge 705 still worth the purchase. I have the Garmin edge 25 coming today but just found a Garmin edge 705 for the same price. Was wondering if it's still worth the purchase. $50 and it looks like it's still in excellent condition. Not sure how old the unit is, looks like it may of came out around 2013, just a guess.

I'm looking at the Xoss G or G+, but not for cycling. I'm going to use it on my SUP (stand up paddleboard), just for the real time speedometer for training purposes. Anyhoo, obviously I will need a way to attach it to the board, and I have found one for a Garmin device.
My question is whether the Xoss mount is compatible with Garmin's?
Thx
