I use Mapfactor, but the last time I opened a GPX was a couple of years ago when someone asked this question. It's tricky - do it wrong and get a track that won't navigate - but easy when you do it right and it works. The trick IIRC involves generating waypoints with whatever exports the GPX.

I primarily navigate on the cycling computer, but I have RideWithGPS on my phone as backup in case I need it.

OsmAnd~ for now. It is thorough and takes some time learning your way around the interface.

I use rwgps as backup too, but the subscription is $50/yr for navigation I think

Bikes: depends what week it is..

I use an old android phone mounted on my bars to follow GPS routes. I tried ridewithgps, osmand & google maps but have settled on komoot. Even has audible turn by turn directions which can be too much at times or handy if it alerts you to a turn and you're not paying attention.
To upload rides from my laptop I save them as GPX files into my google drive and then on the android phone (which also has google drive) I open them using komoot.

That's for turn-by-turn navigation, right? I'm fine without it, as there is a cue sheet to follow, and if not then it's just referring to the red line and knowing where to turn up ahead.

I use Bikemap. It lets you plan routes both on your PC and your phone. If you have a .gpx that you'd like to navigate, you can just upload it on the Bikemap website and then sync it with your phone to ride it. It's free, but there is also a Premium version.
