Garmin Edge 800 users ?
I utilized my stimulus check to buy a second carbon road bike and the seller tossed in this neat little Garmin GPS for free, its missing the charge cable but those are cheap and easy to find. Although I found the manual online I’m wondering if anyone out there has used one? It does a million things but all I’m really interested in keeping track of is distance.

800/500/1000/510/810/520/520 Plus/530/830/1030. Search any of those with the words “Garmin Edge” in front of it, you’ll learn a lot about GPS.
You can/could update on a PC using the Garmin Express software, but it’s a pretty old unit. It’ll maybe update the base maps. There’s also a method to download free OpenStreetMaps, which are generally better than what a Garmin provided. Like on DC Rainmakers site.
And note that not all USB cables work to pass data. I’ve likely 10-12 cables around the house that do nothing except allow a charge. It’s a try and see when connected to a PC if it’ll either connect as an external hard drive or be recognized by the Express software.

By all means get the manual off the Garmin web site.
When you want to learn how to really use it, check out Frank Kinlan's site: https://frank.kinlan.co.uk/garmin-ed...rmin-edge-800/
