Face Mask Source
I used to hike and camp quite a bit in New Hampshire and bought much equipment there for that purpose. One supplier, who produced much of the equipment they sold was Ragged Mountain in Intervale, N.H. The owners retired and recently a new investor has resurrected the business. With nothing better to do I made a quick pass of some of the outdoor equipment web sites I used to frequent including Ragged Mountain which is now making face masks. https://raggedmountain.com/

For cycling, I prefer an old fashioned bandana. I tried a commercial style cloth mask, but find the bandana to be easier to drink with, just more comfortable. As to effectiveness, can't say, compared to commercial cloth mask, but it is easily pulled down to drink, or take in a little more air. I do feel a little like a bank robber, though. New normal, I guess.

I wear a mask while walking my bicycle through the grocery store, not when I'm outside, riding though. A bandanna works fine as a mask.

A silk balaclava works for me. You can pull it down under your chin when you don't need the full mask, and raise it up to cover nose and mouth when you do. Keeps ears and neck warm as well;important at this time of year.

I had a thin balaclava helmet liner from an indoor karting event a few years zgo. I used to ride with it on chilly days. I haven't been able to find it lately, and at 96° yesterday, topping 98° today, I don't think I'll l be using it. Still going with the bandit bandana.
