new Kit suggestions request

#1 . helmet cover for warmer weather.

I have a louis Garneau rain cover in black, and it does a fantastic job of keeping my head warm. I want something breathable to wear into the low 60 degree range before I go commando and just wear the helmet. searched threads back to "05" before I reached futility.

#2 . warm weather riding shorts.

I have Ibex knickers & shorts but the last few summers I rode w/ Rivendell MUSA shorts & ex officio. this year I would like to skip the skivvies and musa in exchange for shorts without a crotchal pad or whatever it's called. grey would be my color choice, but the industry will most likely me black.

suggestions for both appreciated.

edit: I guess I could try one of these: https://www.refactortactical.com/pro...12183558651979

#1 Maybe a Headsweats type beanie under the helmet? 60s is warm enough you'll appreciate the air flow through the helmet. #2 Can't help you. I'd hate to have to ride any significant distance w/o proper cycling shorts with crotchal pad aka chamois.

my helmet fits superb (medium). I bought both M & Large and the large even tightened down was mas grande, so no inner cap.

I've never had shorts with liners that didn't make me feel like I was wearing a diaper or sanitary napkin on my nether region. I usually take a seam ripper or exacto knife and remove it as soon as I determine if i'll keep them. I have learned XL in cycle-speak means "taller than I will ever be, yet not big enough to go 'round".

Sorry, I don't understand what you are saying about the helmet. I'll bow to your experience regarding the shorts as I have no memory of wearing a diaper or sanitary napkin. Maybe post in the Clyde section if XL stuff is too small? Happy shopping!
