The person who made my list here clearly isn't capable of being amusing on purpose and just wants to trade insults, so probably won't be inadvertently amusing. Definitely falls into the "life's too short to read this" category.
You used to drive me nuts because you have lots of interesting things to say, but also used to be one of the most egregious insulters on BF. Now, even when you disagree with someone, it's an interesting, fair discussion.

Hey guys, don't want to add any fuel to the fire. Notice of response to my orig. post got caught up in a spam filter. But I'm 76 and don't particularly care to waste what's left of my life in internet flame spats. I've now got 4 bicycles, just added a "GIANT" and two motorcycles all of which need maintenance and riding. And I'm training to maintain my status as a competitive fencer. I do read what you write just don't have a lot to offer except occasionally.

Back on-topic: I haven't read all of the posts (too much dross), but I didn't see any mention of Maxway, the Taiwanese company that builds steel frames (though I think they work in other materials, too) for umpteen bike brands. And, again contrary to the claims that such companies are just slapping different labels on identical frames, Maxway builds the frames to spec regarding tubesets, and does tig welding, lugs, fillet brazing - whatever the buyer specifies. I recall that a couple years ago, Rivendell was selling a frame built by Maxway that had fillet brazing at the BB junction and lugs everywhere else - just because.
Whether it's Giant with cf, or Maxway with metals, or any other firm, economies of scale is nothing new, and it benefits the consumer.
