Exactly. I want to be able to gulp my water and I can no longer do that with ice cold water, so lukewarm works for me.

At least for me, where I live, solid color water bottles don't seem to get too hot. Transparent bottles seem to greenhouse or something.

I often use a couple of stainless steel Thermoses to keep my water cold on hot humid days when I'm riding for a long time. I use two of them on the frame plus a plastic water bottle on the handlebar. I pour about 1 -2 cups (250 - 500 ml) of water from the stainless steel Theromos into the bottle on the handlebar. I can then drink as I ride. The Thermoses keep the water cold all day long. Here's my setup.

Cheers

My camelback insulated water bottles worked great today. Still some ice after an hour. Still cool after three hours.
