That seat tube looks slack. And in a good way. Looks like the bine really helps set your weight back during climbing.
Not sure the inches. Its 65cm C-C so thats probably 25.8" or so?..
I agree the seat tube angle looks slack, thats odd. Not sure why it looks so slack. Its for sure 73degrees.

You get triple butted (or "dual zone butted" which I think is the same) on MTB downtubes quite often these days. It saves putting gussets on them, although personally I don't really see the point of gussets anyway.

Well I've built a few frames for myself and friends and the two that were for me are about as conventional as it's possible to get! Both are 55.5cm, square (TT same length as ST), horizontal TT, 1" TT AND 9/8" DT. One is 73 parallel and the other 72 head 73 seat, double butted Reynolds or Columbus, all TIG. One is a fixer, the other a road bike. They both ride really nicely.

As a beginner it's good to start with something simple, also to have a reference, but I suspect the classic design is the best anyway.

It's actually not that easy to buy what I would consider a "classic" steel frame like this these days. Most of them are somewhat overweight perhaps because of CEN crash testing or something.

Ooh, good point- and one I should have remembered since my gravel bike even uses a DZB downtube!
So to correct my earlier comment, besides the DZB downtube on a few offerings, modern steel bikes largely use DB tubing.

Thats massive. Where can I find similarly sized frames?
