I don’t care if he is the President of the United States or not – – I always love seeing older people on bikes. I want to be riding at that age.

not sure what that's supposed to mean, are you advocating for an extremely active moderation team that cracks down on everything? I wish people could control themselves from using this thread as a political Rorschach test, and it's somewhat unremarkable to see Biden on a bike. Press must have been bored.

This forum is viewed by people around the world. The pettiness in criticizing how Biden is riding his bike or what equipment he has makes Americans look silly (I could have used a stronger word). I'm just glad to see a political figure like Biden riding a bike. If more politicians rode bikes maybe we would get a better and safer biking infrastructure like in parts of Europe.

Honestly, we get way too much political commentary (like the helmet strap bull____) on "normal" media. I totally don't need it on BF, especially when not corralled into whatever secret Dark Pedaling portion of BF exists for that function.
I do think the SS should tell him to put his (and their own) helmet on right (including proper strap tension) as part of their protection service. But it is not fricking politics.

I'm from around the world and I don't see this as petty criticism. It's more of a hyper focused group almost laughing at themselves for their preoccupation with gear, when someone well-known but a little more casually interested gets involved in the activity. It's all in good fun. I would kinda like to have a couple of ATVs full of MANPADS and heavy firepower following me around for my bike rides as well.

I don't much care for either Sleepy Joe or Dubya but I would probably much rather ride with Dubya, apparently he is a pretty good rider, not technical but fast AF and has some nice riding trails at his ranch. Biden is running on a crappy old Trek hybrid from the early to mid 2000s barely able to buckle the helmet. He looks like someone who would be riding all over the bike path causing problems with with everyone nearly running into people. Booooooorrring.

Good grief. The things that some people read into a silly bf post.
Some of you need to stop shaking your fists at the sky and ride your bikes more.

Well, it seems the repeated use of "Sleepy Joe" is OK so I'll post what crossed my mind. Can you imagine "Deranged Don" trying to get his haunch over a bike?

The last president has stated that he will never ride a bike.
You don’t get much lower cycling cred than that.
