Bikes: 04 Specialized Sirrus Comp

So I've had my 04 Specialized Sirrus Comp and have enjoyed riding it immensely. I'm interested in making the switch to a clipless setup (the bike originally came with SPD pedals with black plastic pedal platforms attached that I've been pedalling with regular shoes).

Anyone willing to share their experience with the Sirrus line and clipless pedals? This will be my first experience clipless--should I go with the stock SPD pedals or is there another pedal that folks would recommend for this bike (and for newbies in my situation)? (Sorry if this question seems redundant--I can see from the boards that "the pedal question" won't be answered anytime soon).

Thanks!

My wife uses Speedplay Frogs on an 04 Sirrus Comp because SPDs bother her knees. They work well for her. I use SPDs myself. Give the SPDs a try if you already have them. Remember to loosen the cleat tension screws before you try them for the first time. Just 1/2 turn in from completely loose is what I used.

Frogs and SPDs use the mountain bike cleat screw pattern. They are not interchangable with most road cleats, including other speedplays.
