Schwinn question

Hello fellow bike buddies,

I was cruising the 'hood the other day and noticed a guy selling bikes out of his front yard. He had a Schwinn 6 speed hybrid that I am considering buying. I wish I could remember the model but it escapes me at the moment. I've looked all over and I can't seem to find any info whatsoever on this bike, or even if Schwinn ever made a bike like that. Maybe this guy took a Schwinn MTB frame and put 700c wheels on it, I don't know. I'm curious if any of you Schwinn experts out there have any experience with this type of bike. How much would it be worth in good condition, give or take?
Thanks
-BT

That doesn't ring a bell. Do you recall the model name at all?

By 6-speed, do you mean it has an internal six speed hub? If yes, buy the bike for $50.00

I went over to the guy's house today after work and he tells me he sold it. I could have sworn that I saw it near the back of his shop, but I didn't want to argue with him. I think he was p-ssed because I didn't buy it when I had the chance. To answer your question Mike it had 6 cogs in the back and one ring in the front. No internal hub or anything like that. I have a feeling this bike was a mutt and it's probably just as well I didn't wast my $$ on it. Thanks anyway for the help!

If you liked the look, I have a 1970 Schwinn Collegiate five speed I will sell you cheap. It looks neat and is a very smooth rider - good for commuting, shopping, or cruising the neighborhood. Lots of chrome!
