I ordered a Heart Rate Monitor from Performance Bicycle last Saturday on the 23rd. The unit did not ship until the 28th, which was yesterday. I see Performance Bike mentioned on this forum, so my question is, Does anyone else receive such poor shipping performance from performancebike.com?

I've always had good shipping times from Performance. I order from them about once every 3 months. Maybe your HMR was not in stock, or had to be fetched from a warehouse. I'm not sure how their distribution system works.
Better luck next time, and have fun with the HRM.

Heck, love Performance, not fond of Nashbar.
Peformance: Ordered $50 order, had it in three days.
Nashbar: Placed a $120+ order the 19th. Received e-mail that it was shipped the 20th. Here I sit the 30th and still nothing. Their customer service response when I had to ask for e-mail confirmation of the order? "Shipping takes 7-10 business days."
Fine.
Understood.
A few days later, I enter the tracking number I was given, which fails to show up on the USPS website, so I e-mail customer service back, informing them of this. One line response: "Shipping takes 7-10 business days."
Mm-hmm, genius, I can read. Caught that in your first e-mail.
Bye-bye Nashbar.
Performance or the LBS from now on, definitely.

["Shipping takes 7-10 business days."]
USPS is horrible about tracking. Usually, the information is updated after the item is received. You can take the number to the local Post Office and have them look it up. The information on their computer is up-to-date. After the item is shipped, the wharehouse distributer, (Nashbar, Performance) pretty much looses control of the item being shipped.
I did call Performance on the 26th to see if there was any problems, because nothing had been updated. The CSR told me that the item was to ship that day. If my item was shipped in one to two business days, I would be waiting on the mail.
What if I had paid for 2-day shipping. Four business days without any notification is not the industry standard. Maybe I should stick with PricePoint.
Thanks for the replies. Good luck with the post office Zen Existence!!
