Less arguing and Bickering Here or What?
It seems to me that the members have been more civil recently. Don’t know if rutting season is over or they got worn out never winning, but BF has been a more pleasant. I am enjoying it and hope the goodwill continues. (Toto, we aren’t in Kansas any more)

Because there are no recent threads about "what is better, Wax or spray lube for chain?"
We all know the answer to that one...

We've been over in A&S arguing whether plain ol' paint is better than protected bike lanes or not & slinging accusations that others that disagree don't actually ride bikes.

I'm not looking forward to the end of bike season (for those who believe in such a thing!) and the concomitant uptick in frustration from not cycling as much showing up in BF.

Now that you mention it, it seems we're long overdue for one of those threads where someone asks us our opinion.... And then proceeds to argue with everyone who responds as to why we're all wrong.

I belong to a bicycle forum called Rat Rod Bikes dot com, and there is NO arguing, politics, cussing etc allowed. It's SO refreshing. Just a big community of positivity and kindness. I wish BF were like RRB.

You’re right – it has been at least a week. We’re certainly due for one of those.

There was a single poster who really was operating a troll thread factory. I think his departure has made the place seem relatively peaceful. Also, I do think differences in preferences are generally getting a bit more respect. People who post "no one needs or should want" and "you're not a real cyclist if you don't" are not enjoying a lot of support from anyone.

I drop in daily and really see no difference in "attitude"(?) of overall content. The recent self or moderator elimination of a troll or two certainly helped, however trolls in general are always well-fed...and most often buy (brain autopilot) by the same folks.
There's tons of good info here and as a research tool (on actual first-person bike related issues) it's unequalled. Of course, as with any (non-scientific/professional, non-juried) source that offers some good info, one has to wade through a small sea of "noise"...nature of the beast.

I'm guessing the ignore feature is used more often so that the trolls are starting to realize there are far too few members who can see and respond to their posts.

Finally, something to brake the piece. It's "by", not "buy."

Shouldn't this be posted in the "What's it worth" thread?
