Amongst other things, he invented the differential microphone, and monitor speakers.

An occasional sky that looks like that is nothing new here in Southern California. If we get a few brushfires sparked up and the winds coming out of the east and it'll look just like that. Ash reigning down and the smell of burning forest - welcome to brushfire season!

Owsley was human scum, though he may have had some slight brilliant characteristics.
I don't believe that Owsley should be credited with the invention of monitor speakers, as Baker Audio of Atlanta Georgia was perhaps the first to employ what would later become the standard proceedure in the concert industry some three or so years later with the Rolling Stones 1969 US Tour.
The BEATLES at ATLANTA STADIUM on AUGUST 18, 1965 was the ONLY time the Beatles or anyone had a very powerful P/A system at any rock concert prior to John Phillips' and Lou Adler's presentation of the MONTEREY POP FESTIVAL in June 1967!!!
The Beatles' ATLANTA STADIUM 8-18-65 concert also marked the first time that anyone ever had MONITORS, as Baker Audio was responsible for this first time innovation. Brian Epstein, the Beatles manager, attempted to offer Baker Audio the exclusive for all the remaining Beatles concerts but Baker Audio declined as their market was audio for corporate headquarters, and factories and plants, etc, and their business was as good as it could possibly be at that time in 1965.
Owsley was a vile piece of trash, human scum, who thought it was his mission to get everyone tripping on LSD.
You may not be aware but he was known to have a toy squirt gun loaded with acid that he would use to attempt to Dose everyone by squirting it at their drinks on stage and backstage. I say that is an individual that is worse than a piece of sh-t. There is a difference between a dumbass who willingly partakes of his/her accord but when someone who doesn't wish to do acid is sent on an LSD trip because of some imbecile azzhole scumbag........ It isn't the least bit funny and it is a criminal offense that could really mess someone up or potentially kill them. Yeah, Owsley, what a worthless piece of s--t!!!

In September of 2020 the winds shifted for over a week and really big wildfire near Portland, Oregon blew a lot of smoke all the way down to northern California. Here on the coast of far NorCal it was like dusk at noon. This un-retouched photo was taken a few blocks from my house at about 2:00 p.m.
