Wrench science shipping experience?
Does anyone have experience ordering a complete build from Wrench Science? I'm buying a build from them and I can have them build it and ship it which Is my preference but the shipping of a built bike makes me nervous. Or, i can have them ship me everything and just build it locally here in NYC which may be safer but adds a whole new dimention to this that i'd rather avoid.
Is the shipping and packaging they use safe? Does anyone have experience with this?

I have no experience with them in particular, but I am sure that even if shipped completely assembled, you will still have to mount a few items such as the seat and bars plus fine tune brakes and DR's. I could be wrong, but that just seems like common sense to me. I personally would love nothing more than to assemble my bike from parts and know it inside and out literally, but to each his own. Good luck with whichever way you go.

I just received a Canyon bike and if they ship it anything like that there is nothing to worry about. pretty sure the box could have been thrown out of the fed ex truck at 60mph and it would have been fine. literally took 15 minutes to unbox and install the handlebars and seat. Brakes and front and rear shifting were 100% spot on.

Check this thread... Lowcel bought a bike from them. I was planning to buy a frame from them, but at the time, the delivery expect date was close to a year, so I decided to pass.

I'm good on buying from them. they seem great and i'm happy with that. I'm just looking to find out if shipping the bike after they have built it is safe OR if i should just have htem ship me everything boxed origionally and then me build it with a local shop. Just trying to find folks to comment who have ordered a built bike from them and comment on how the packaging was done and if it was safe.

I bought my Time Scylon Disc from them. Carbon frame, fork, wheels, most everything. Everything arrived in one box mostly assembled with zero damage to the contents. I did the little assembly that was lest, then out for a quick 10 mile ride in one evening after I got home from work. Was it safe? Absolutely.

I would have them ship it as normal and then take it to your local shop and get it built and more importantly tuned. Partially assembled bikes get shipped all the time. Generally most new bikes need to be partially assembled and certainly always need some tuning. I wouldn't trust anyone to send a new bike and just have it be perfect out of the box. If it is great but having built a lot of bikes from boxes over the years you always need to do at least a little something.
