Schwalbe pro one differences, your thoughts.

I just bought two new Schwalbe 700x32 tires and there is some differences between the two tires even tho labels and printing and boxes are the same. seems odd but maybe there is that much variation in manufacturing of tires. one tire weighs 25 grams more and is thicker at the tread and just stiffer in general and has much darker sidewalls and different texture on the inside. both are marked tube only so not like one is a tubless and the other tube type. again maybe it is completely normal as I have little experience with Schwalbe.

Tire manufactures will change up the rubber compounds and other materials used in a tire. When that happens the part number of the tire will usually change though the model name of the tire stays the same. I think that number on the inside you show is the actual part number or whatever they call it.

I'd guess that one is just the older version of that model. You might email their support and ask them. Some brands are better about replying than others... depending on the question.

I don’t know anything about this situation in particular, but Schwalbe got very difficult to keep track of, with all their variants and alterations, a few years ago. I found it impossible to know which tire, exactly, I would be getting, since they did not change their model designations when making even substantial changes to a tire model. I found it very frustrating, and moved off the brand for tires, even though at one point, I found the Pro One was easily the best tubeless road tire on the market.
