I actually clicked the link. That helmet looks ridiculous.

At some point they need to just allow full fairing recumbents into the TT’s. Let’s make this exciting.

And.....Rapha's or Assos's or Le Col's new jerseys will save 5 watts. Welcome to the world of wind tunnels, marketing, and pro cycling = Where a second may be the difference between fame or obscurity.

What does it mean unless you are wearing a race number? = nothing burger. But still humorous in a weird way, especially if a person shows for a group ride wearing one of these new TT helmets..

Can we cue up some Photoshop or AI images?

That depends somewhat on the type of group ride.

Luckily:
1. These helmets are not publicly available - yet.
2. Time trial group rides are rarer than frog hairs.

Well, the great thing about having more aerodynamic jerseys is not having to hear all that flapping fabric. Even if it weren't stealing speed, the noise bugs the living hell out of me! And, yeah - I might not have the body for skin tight clothes, but I'm on the INSIDE looking OUT, so it's not MY problem!

Hmmm...I have a Le Col "Pro Aero" jersey. It's really nice fabric, a nice weight for warmer temps, and fits me really well. I also like the dark green color (which was the reason I bought it). It really doesn't look much different than any other plain-colored jersey from any of the other high-end bike clothing brands.

It's not just a tight and form fitting jersey for a pro cyclist, but also the techie windtunnel stuff like new materials, orientation of fabric, seams/seamless, etc. I do not know any details, but one clothing manufacturer claims 5 watts (I think) saved with their newest pro jersey.

I agree, if "not having to hear all that flapping fabric ... the noise bugs the living hell out of me." - is a problem on one's rides, then the jersey may not fit. Or you ride much, much faster than I.

edit:
The helmet isn't aero and the jersey not a race fit, especially with a collar. The 'flapping' hasn't bothered me. A high-tech jersey would be low on the list of things to make me faster - if that were even a priority. YMMV.

Roll On. Just don't forget your readers!

Living and riding on the SF Peninsula, I'm frequently riding into a substantial headwind, so my air speed is often significantly higher than my ground speed. And then there are a number of straight, fast, but short descents on my usual ride and I am a big fan of the free speed that being over 90kg gets me - the only advantage extra mass provides.

Sweet Bianchi, BTW. I love the drillium chainrings!

Do they whistle at speed? All that flapping and whistling, you must sound like a one man band!

Your clothing aesthetic perfectly fits with your choice of bike, and overall style. A modern, areo-optimized kit would likely look a bit less cohesive on that bike. Likewise, your kit with my bike would look equally out-of-place.

Also...lovely machine!

I was thinking about those aero jerseys, speed suits, and aero socks. Those pop up on fast group rides.
