Part of what you're not understanding is that the "big news" will not be big news at all.

Sorry to break it to you.

Like the time dad finally agreed to pull into South of The Border on I95. Just a truck stop painted in Mexican colors and themes, the disappointment was heartbreaking to an 8 year old, but the highway billboard signs were clever....

Just read this post by the OP in a current thread on bike sizing:

"I fall right between the overlap of most 56 and 54’s

endrd up with a 56 Checkpoint and likely going to pick up a 54 Roubaix sl8 sport apex. Nice back up bike and good deal. Bought one for my daughter not long ago."

Maybe some of his posts border on (or even cross the border into) trolling. Might end up banned, might not.

But the side-comment in the post quoted above about buying such a bike for his daughter says to me that he's likely a pretty good guy IRL If this thread were to drop out of circulation after the announcement, whatever it turns out to be, I for one wouldn't mind.

Yeah, there was a long thread a couple weeks ago where he asked about drop bars for kids. He races his daughter and she is frustrated she isnt winning, so apparently he decided to buy her a new bike.

There is a former member who, among other things, concocted a girlfriend sock puppet and posted as her. He also plucked photos from the Internets and passed them off as ones he had taken during an alleged cross country ride. Did I mention that he claimed to be on the U.S. Track and Field Team? Etc.

See what I’m getting at?

If someone comes here and starts yelling at all of you posting as Wileyrat’s wife…..Believe her.

I've seen those on the street, going car speeds. I have to wonder how efficient braking is, but I guess armor and a full face helmet are at least SOME protection. smh.

(...says a guy who goes 40 in a 25 zone (downhill) on 20 lbs of steel/titanium/plastic wearing a few ounces of Lycra.)

Easy enough to create a virtual family, bike, whatever. I think he realizes his days are numbered. :twitchy:

My tuxedo is pressed and I have champagne on ice...in my bomb shelter. I just don't know what to expect! The anticipation is making me all tingly....

It's already June 27th in Japan. They must know. Has anyone checked in with the Japanese members? They are likely buying up all the new product stock before the big North American debut.

Pic on their site but Google Translate is wonky

Apparently it's a new domane. Pretty similar to the old Domane.

“…Same as the old boss.”

What the world needs now is another Trek Domane like I need a hole in my head.

I was hoping it would be something groundbreaking, like these:

yeah, I remember that guy now. Ha, had forgotten that absurd guy.
I thought he actually was on some development track team, so there was a level of truth vs outright baseless crazy.
...not that one is actually better.

Bogey Speedwell 06-27-24 04:41 AM
