Commuter 9 LTD
EDIT: It's the
Roadlite CF 9 LTD Ordering this for my wife. The site has AI chatbot currently and I figure the fastest source of info is here rather than their email form. I don't see any info on the stem in the specs. Is this because it's one of those integrated deals? If she wants shorter reach and higher bars can this still be achieved with those Amazon angled stems? BF unleash your wrath! |
All it says in specs is
"A lightweight carbon cockpit with a clean one-piece look" |
Wow that looks terrible! A quick glance at reviews isn’t reassuring either. Didn’t you have a really nice commuter bike? Buy another one of those?
|
|
The headlight is really nice, minus the lack of switch it’s the same one I have and I’ve really enjoyed it.
|
Me bad. Its the
Roadlite CF 9 LTDhttps://www.canyon.com/en-ca/hybrid-...rahmenfarbe=WH Same question applies |

The answer is easily found in the link you provided. Didn't you bother to read it?
so the mysterious “ "A lightweight carbon cockpit with a clean one-piece look" means there’s no adjustments possible even if I want to raise the handlebar ? id also like to know largest tire size. So yes I did send them an email. |
Looking at the bike and comparing it even to other canyons in the same class (City) it looks like it has a lot of drop from the seat to the handle bar by design. I would make sure the wife likes this
looking at the setup video, there there seems to be no extra length to cut on steerer, so only adjustment would be seat post it could be that they have the seat post set higher than needed to look fast for the pictures I think this is what MikeDeason is asking about... |
Yes^^^.
it looks like it may as well have drop bars. The bike checks all the boxes; flat bar, electronic shifter, disc brakes and cf but I’m probably going to need to get the bar up higher and possibly closer to make her happy. |

The pic in post 4 doesn't match the tri bike in the link.
|
I personally wouldn't buy a bike for the wife without her test riding it especially something weird and whacky like this. If she or you have questions I would go to Canyon and ask them. It seems to make more sense to ask the people who make the thing that you want to buy instead of some random folks on the internet.
The bike looks like they put it through an AI software and said uhhh mix like a weird aggressive XC hardtail with like sort of a commuter thingy and sort of a hybrid and then they went with the first result. |

He then edited the bike he was asking about. Also, the bike in the link is not a 'tri bike'. Go back to ranting about derailleurs. |

A $5000 skinny tire hybrid with 1x gravel gears. LOL What a farce.
And not made for any kind of jump. A couple months ago a father and adult son went by, both on same model of a brand new cheaper skinny tire hybrid with I think was a 1x. Both were going 18 mph in the SMALLEST cog. LOL. |

So then I did an edit before your post.
They don't know WTH they designed either, like was mentioned. Hell we still don't know what bike the OP wants. The title says commuter, the link shows 1x road bike and the Canyon assembly video shows a 2x road bike. ==== And anyway, that broom straight handlebar is the worst of the worst for ROAD riding. Horrible bike IMO. |

To answer your question, if you’re already pondering “one of those Amazon angled stems”, you’re looking at the wrong bike and that stem likely won’t work for it anyway.
If I was in your position with your budget I’d find a good bike shop and pay them to help me build the bike I’m looking for. |
The bike would be perfect for what she wants if the flat bar was higher and possibly closer for a more upright riding position and with wider tires.
It has a flat bar, electronic shifting, cf frame (light). All good. I emailed Canyon but I assume 38mm tires would fit. The problem lies in the aggressive bar position which is just weird for a city bike. EDIT: Return email from Canyon which sounds like it was written by an AI Bot. "We appreciate your interest in our Roadlite CF 9 LTD. Please note that the Schwalbe tires installed on the Roadlite have a width of 30mm. This means that the maximum permissible width is already installed." Huh? And they are forwarding the bar question to their "technical team" |
Perfect except for the riding position and max tire width. :twitchy: Next...?
