It's a good sign that your sense of humor is still working. Get well fast!

Hope you're on the mend!

The subcutaneous emphysema thing is annoying, but clears up. I had it when both lungs partially collapsed after a race car accident. All positive healing vibes pointed in your direction.

I hope it works out well for you. Sounds like the best case scenario, if you must have active cancer.

Just for our information, do you have any idea what caused the cancer? Were you a smoker? Around second-hand smoke? Environmental issue at work maybe?

So I am finally home after 10 days in the hospital. Hoping that the lung seals completely by next Wednesday. If not it looks lie an endobronchial valve is in order.

I am astounded by how little endurance and energy I have left at this point.

Hang in there. It will get better soon, and catching it early likey saved your life.

Shadco, glad you're home!
After the last 2 weeks, no wonder you're feeling beat-up.

I raise a toast (double espresso) to your return to fitness. Maybe I'll see you on Zwift.

Well….

Things aren’t going so well, leaky lung has yet to heal. I’m getting sick and tired of dragging my chest tube and mini atrium around.

So Thursday I’m going in for an Endobronchial valve insertion hoping that isolating that part of the lung will allow it to heal. Unfortunately the chest tube doesn’t come out yet and in 6 to 8 weeks they plan on going in and removing the valve.

Think of it like this, you could have gotten lucky and been done in a few days. Now it’ll take you months.

But we can’t really say “unlucky” since the odds of acupuncture causing a pneumothorax at just the right time in your lifetime that it actually meant that you’re diagnosed at a super early and treatable stage, that’s friggen amazing.

Best of luck to you.

Update.

Last Sunday I equaled my average time and speed on my customary 32 mile ride. This was the ride I was headed out to when all this started.
