Sundays Bike Insurance

Hi guys. Just a heads up. I had Sundays Insurance, they are a nightmare to get anything reimbursed. I cancelled it was ridiculous to get payment. Just a thought. Thanks. I had an Uber ride from a crash, they just loop you out, send material send material ect Not worth the hassle. Bogus company.

Bikes: Dolan Tuono 105 Di2, custom built 653 and 531 bikes with frames by Barry Witcomb, Sonder Dial XT mountain bike and a Brompton folding bike.

Our of curiosity, are they particularly cheap? There are loads and loads of cheap car insurance offers available in the UK, but I've tended to steer clear of them and go with an insurer that I know isn't going to mess me around. I reckon it's worth a little extra for that peace of mind.

My cycle insurance is with Laka, who seem to have a very good rep. I think they're UK only, though.

Talked to my umbrella insurer about including bikes and they wanted $300 per bike per year. Since both are chipped like dogs (air tags), I told them, no thanks.

Not to go too far off topic...

GCN just did a bike theft video. They chipped an old Pinarello and left it on the street. An air tag shoved way down the seat post and another type of tag mounted somewhere. Two different technologies.

Neither worked. They never got a location update after the bike was stolen.

I have a well hidden sound disabled Airtag on my bike.
I think the best outcome I can hope for is that the thief is notified of an Airtag following them but can't find it without the beeper working. So the bike is dropped beside the road.

Fingers crossed I don't need it.

Saw that video too. Perhaps putting it in the seat tube was not a great idea. And they didn’t test it before they put the bike out. Mine is attached to the pedal as part of the power meter, so no obstructions. Besides, I never leave the bike locked or out of sight.

yes, if you're putting an air tag inside the frame, it's likely the signal is attenuated.

maybe glue it up under the seat ? Best I can think of
