The latest word on Brooks

From Wallingford's site:

Sunday, August 14th
Saddle Prices Up - Shipping Cost Down

We have received new price lists from our Brooks distributors and, as promised, saddle prices are up. Some saddles, like the ti models, quite a bit, some not so much. A few have stayed the same and we were able to lower the prices on a couple of models.

Friday, August 12th
New Brooks Products

We have word that there are some interesting new Brooks items in the pipeline. Like:

* Leather handlebar wrap
* B.17N models that are drilled and laced
* Production Swallows in 3 colors (same as limited edition but edge is straight cut, no stitching)
* Leather mud flaps
* Team Pro with titanium frame

The soonest we would have most of this stuff would be October. Could be later. But it is coming. This is all we know for now.
As for me, I'm looking forward to the Ti Pro. It's about time us Pro fans get a Ti frame!!

Bikes: the ever shifting stable loaded with comfortable road bikes and city and winter bikes

Titanium railed B-17's under $140 bucks on another site. I was going to buy one for a bike I haven't even thought about building up yet!

Even if you don't use it for awhile, a Brooks is nice to just look at!

Bikes: 1 trek, serotta, rih, de Reus, Pogliaghi and finally a Zieleman! and got a DeRosa

Well with the price of some plastic saddles approaching $200
I'm not surprized to see Brooks upping their price.
Isn't the Ti Railed Pro the Swift?

Marty

Bikes: A few.

Does anyone else have un-kind memories of the stitched on leather handlebar wrap from the '80's?

No, the Pro is 8-10 mm. wider than the Swift. The Pro has never had the Ti frame until (according to the rumor) they come out with it this fall/winter.

I meant the B17 Standard. I still got one, one of the last ones because they had to search all over to fill my order, at the same price as the black B17 Standard. Now if you want honey you're screwed, you have to pay the Special price.
